Charity at the heart

We started Longdog & Whisker because we love long dogs, cats and all the tiny things that make life cosy. It felt natural to build giving back into the way we run the business – not as a one-off, but as something that’s part of selected collections.

When you choose one of our charity pieces, you’re helping to fund food, vet care, safe spaces and joyful events for the people and animals who need them most.

    Selected cat charms support Black Cat Rescue, North Duffield and Henry’s Haven, York – small, hard-working rescues that care for cats who’ve been abandoned, injured or need a fresh start.

Why local charities?

We choose local organisations because we can see the difference your orders make – from updates about animals in new homes to photos of pride events and community projects. It keeps things personal, real and close to home.

  • How the 15% works

    • Only clearly marked designs are part of our charity scheme.
    • For those pieces, we donate 15% of profits (what’s left after costs like materials, components and fees).
    • We total up profits from each design and make regular donations to our partner charities through the year.
    • We keep things simple so we can keep saying “yes” to giving, even as a small business.

  • Spotting charity pieces on the site

    On the product page, charity pieces will clearly say which cause they support, for example:

    • “15% of profits donated to Black Cat Rescue, Escrick”
    • “15% of profits donated to our local dog rescue charity”
    • “15% of profits donated to our local pride charity”
    • If you see that line, you know that design is part of our give-back collection.
