How We Give Back

At Longdog & Whisker, we want our jewellery to feel good in more than one way. Selected pieces do not just add a bit of colour, personality or sentiment to your day. They also help support small charities doing practical, caring work in the real world.

We donate 15% of profits from selected designs to causes we care deeply about, with a focus on local dog, cat and Pride charities.

Why we built this into the business

Longdog & Whisker started because we love tiny joyful things: long dogs, cats, bright colours, heartfelt gifts, and pieces that make people smile. From the beginning, it felt natural to build a give-back element into selected collections rather than treat charity as a one-off campaign.

Since launching Longdog & Whisker in June 2025, we have been growing that approach steadily through selected pieces that help support causes close to our heart.

The causes we support

  • For the Cats

    Selected cat-themed charity pieces support small rescue work, including charities such as Black Cat Rescue and Henry’s Haven in York. These are the kinds of organisations doing hands-on, often under-the-radar work for cats that need safety, treatment, and a fresh start.

    Selected dog-themed charity pieces support local dog rescue work. That includes the everyday practical things rescue charities always need help funding, from medical care and transport to warm beds, food, and the support that helps dogs move into loving homes.

    Selected Pride pieces support local Pride-related causes that help fund inclusive events, welcoming spaces, and year-round community support. We want those designs to stand for something more than a single month on the calendar.

Why local charities?

We choose local organisations because we can see the difference your orders make – from updates about animals in new homes to photos of pride events and community projects. It keeps things personal, real and close to home.

  • How the 15% works

    Only clearly marked pieces are part of our charity give-back scheme.

    For those pieces, we donate 15% of profits. In simple terms, that means 15% of what is left after direct costs such as materials, components, and selling fees.

    We keep the model straightforward because we want it to be sustainable. The goal is to keep giving consistently as the business grows, rather than make inflated promises that are hard to maintain.

  • Spotting charity pieces on the site

    If a piece is part of the give-back range, we make that clear on the product page.

    You may see wording such as:

    • 15% of profits donated to Black Cat Rescue
    • 15% of profits donated to a local dog rescue charity
    • 15% of profits donated to a local Pride charity

    If you see that wording on a product page, that piece is part of the charity collection.

Keeping it honest

We only talk about donations where they are genuinely being made, and we try to keep the wording clear so you always know which pieces give back.

Since launching Longdog & Whisker in June 2025, we have been building selected charity pieces into the business as a real part of what we do, not as a one-off campaign.

We are still a small business, so the totals grow steadily rather than dramatically, but we will keep sharing updates and running totals whenever we can so you can see the impact build over time.
